Hats and Things with Hippo-Ray

Hi all!  I'm sharing a card today that I really had fun making. This cute hippo is from an older Doodle Pantry set called Hippo-Ray .  I updated this precious image by merging a bow and string of pearls from the new Doodle Pantry set, Hats and Things, on top of the dancing hippo.  I love Doodle Pantry's add-on sets.  They really are fun to use, and can give your images a whole new look.  The sentiment is from another DP set, Happy Sheep.

The digital images I used are precolored making for a quick and easy card.  I did add some of my own coloring and shading to the images.  Although it's barely noticeable in the photo, I cut out the ruffle from a second copy of Hippo-Ray and added it to my card with dimensionals.  Both the green check and floral digi papers are also from the Hippo-Ray set.  I used lots of different dies and punches to embellish my card -- Marvy flower punch, MS butterflies and leaves punches, Spellbinder rectacular dies as well as a Papertrey scallop border die. Pearls were added to the centers of the flowers and butterflies.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Inky Impressions (IIC #113) -- Anything Goes
Bearly Mine Challenge #91 -- Flowers Galore
Paper Playtime Challenge 12 -- Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Enjoy the rest of your day!

This  week's CSAYL Challenge #20 is to include 3 of the following elements on your creation:

M- Metal
E - Embossing Folder
R - Ribbon
R - Rub On
Y - Yellow
C - Chipboard
H - Heat Embossing
R - Rhinestone
I - Distressing Ink
S - Sticker
T - Twine
M - Markers
A - Acrylic
S - Stickles

Beccy's Place is sponsoring this challenge; and one participant will win 3 images of choice.  For a chance to win link up your creation by June 19 at midnight EST.

For the card above, I used the precious Snowy Pair image by Beccy's Place, and had lots of fun adding the following challenge elements to my creation -- I colored the outline image from the Snowy Pair set with Copic Markers and embossed the panel of white card stock with an Embossing Folder.  Embellishments include Ribbon, Rhinestones, and 2 tiny silver snowflake Stickers.  I also incorporated the color, Yellow, into my design.

In addition to the challenge elements, I added digital paper piecing to the hats and scarfs, and embellished the image with fun flock, flower soft and lots of glitter.  Also the edges of the image panel were sponged with ink and glittered.  And the best part -- I have another Christmas card to add to my stash!

Thanks so very much for stopping by.  Hope you join us for this week's challenge at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long.

Quirky Stork

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Today's card uses the new Doodle Pantry digital set, Quirky Stork.  It's this month's featured set for Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge 35 (DPDC35).  All participants who enter this challenge and create a project that follows the theme/rules will be emailed this set for free!  Challenge runs through June 24, 9 PM ( EDT).

For my card above, I merged the outline image from Quirky Stork onto some digi paper and added some digital paper piecing.  After printing the image, I colored it with Copics.  I glittered the gray shadows on the wings and bridge of the beak.  (Unfortunately, I couldn't get the sparkle to show in the photo.)   I used lots of layers and die cuts and finished with rhinestone embellishments.  IRL, there's lots of sparkle and shine!

I also will be entering this card in the following fun challenges:
365 Cards Day 159 -- Sparkle and Shine (I added rhinestones & glittered the gray shadows on wings & top of beak.)
Crafty Calendar June Challenge -- Things with Wings
Totally Gorguss Challenge 188 -- Hey Baby! - cards for a baby
Digi Haven Anything Goes Challenge for One Year Anniversary -- Must use a digi (Congratulations on 1 year!)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Palo Verde

Morning everyone!   Today's the day Doodle Pantry is releasing a fabulous new selection of  digital images.  I used an image from the beautiful new Palo Verde set  to make this card.  This set comes with outline and pre-colored images as well as matching digi papers and sentiments.

For my card, I used the outline image which I colored with Copic markers. Although, it's barley visible in the photo, I sponged the edges of the image panel with chalk ink; then heat embossed with clear EP mixed with dazzling diamonds.  IRL, the edges have a nice sparkle.  I opted for a simple design to allow the blossoms and greenery to take center stage.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe #126 -- Three elements with same letter (PEARLS, PAPER AND PALO VERDE BLOSSOMS)
Inspire Me Fridays 105 -- Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps Challenge 47 -- Make your Mark Coloring (COLORING WAS DONE WITH COPIC MARKERS.)
Rhedd & Rosie's Challenge #7 -- Blooming Lovely

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Hi everyone!  After checking out some fun challenges this weekend, I was inspired to start my Christmas cards.  I love making Christmas cards, except when I'm  still making them on Christmas Eve, like last December!  Plus, I recently got some new goodies, and couldn't wait to play with them.

My new Christmas Window Santa image is by Bugaboo, and the sketch I used is Catch the Bug -- SSS 137.  Sentiment is by Doodle Pantry.  I colored my image with Copics and did some digital paper piecing.  I also added glitter to the snow and fun flock to the trim on Santa's hat and coat.  I die cut black felt to make the large scallop border.  The white embossed border is by MS.  Two different sizes of MS punches were used to make the snowflakes.  Sentiment was punched out with a SU! word window punch.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
My Time to Craft Challenge #222 -- Christmas in May
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Challenge #16 -- Christmas Carols (Santa Claus is Coming to Town)
Pile It On #20 -- Add Fabric /Felt (I die cut black felt to make the large scallop border.)
Creative Corner Challenge 19 -- A Song  (Santa Claus is Coming to Town)
Card Makin' Mamas CMM69 -- Punches (I used large and small snowflake punches & a word window punch.)

Since I had so much fun making this card, I might even try making a holiday card every week or two!  Hope everyone has a great week!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sentiments, anyone?

Morning All!  Don't know about you, but I"m always on the lookout for just the right sentiments to go with my digital images.  Well, I am thrilled to announce that Doodle Pantry is releasing three fabulous sets of sentiments today, and they will be FREE for a limited time -- May 15-19!

The new Celebrations set has 12 great digital sentiments.  The card below combines one of the sentiments  with images from Cupcake Ants.

The new So Endearing set includes 10 wonderful sentiments.   For my next card, I paired a sentiment from So Endearing with an image from Puppy Presents; and just so you know, the little flowers (which were merged behind the dog) are from Spring Song Birdies Color Plus.

The third set of sentiments is called So Thankful and contains 10 great ways to say thank you!  I used one of the sentiments from this set and combined it with Doodle Pantry's beautiful Texas Dogwood.

To go to the Doodle Pantry Store, just click HERE  to preview the sentiments and get instructions to download the free sentiments. Remember, these 3 sets are free only for a limited time. May 15 -- May 19!  After that, the sentiments will be available for purchase at Doodle Pantry ($2 for each set) .

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

For today's release, I am thrilled to showcase Fancy Flamingo.  This  new set includes both colored and outline images, as well as digi papers and sentiments.  For my card above, I  combined 2 outline images and a sentiment from the set to make an anniversary card.  Coloring was done with Copics and colored pencils.  I also added some Spirelli string art around the scallop die cuts.

Swimming Mallard

Happy Sunday!  Hope everyone enjoyed their day.  Today, I have a Father's Day card to share.  I'm actually early for a  change.  I find masculine cards very hard to make, and usual put them off until the last minute. Well, when I first saw the new Doodle Pantry Notebook Paper set, it gave me an idea, and I couldn't wait to give it a try.

Don't you just  love when an idea in your head works out on paper?  Not only am I happy that my design works, but I really like how the images, sentiment and digi paper from Doodle Pantry's Swimming Mallard Color Plus look merged on top of the lined paper.  Although I used pre-colored images, I did change the color of the notebook paper to match the tones in the patterened digi paper,  To add some dimension, I cut out a second copy of the duck image and adhere it over the first image with dimensionals.  I also embossed a panel of kraft (SU! crumb cake) cardstock for texture.  This is probably the first masculine card that I ever made that came together quickly and easily.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Catz Challenge 179 -- One for the boys  (can be for a child or an adult)
Paper Crafting Journey -- Use A Sentiment
Divas by Design Challenge -- Butterflies and Birds
CDAC Anything Goes Challenge Room -- 4/1 -- 6/30 Anything Goes

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

I have some blog candy up for grabs, click here if you are interested in entering your name to the draw.

Birthday Fairy

Hi All!  Here's my attempt at Stella Says Sketch 135.  I used Bugaboo's fun Stella Tidbits-Fairy Visit.  I changed up the sentiment a bit to make it more 'birthday fairy' appropriate.  Coloring was done with Copics.  I also paper pieced the dress and booties.  Glitter was added to the wings and wand, and gloss to the lens of the glasses.  IRL, there's lots of sparkle and shine.

I will also be entering my card in the following challenges:
Delightful Challenges -- Color My World-anything colorful
Moving Along with the Times -- Fantasy or Fairies
Flutter by Wednesday #236-- Use a sentiment with your butterfly or fairy

Thanks for taking the time to visit.  I have some blog candy up for grabs.  Please click HERE to enter!
